After months of development, ErgoSanté has unveiled the new exoskeleton HAPO Up-Front at the WearRAcon 2023. As its name suggests, this model was designed primarily to support the upper limbs when working at height. This passive exoskeleton is actually available in two versions, depending on the desired use.
HAPO UP
The variant HAPO UP variant promises permanent assistance for overhead arm movements. An improved version of our previous Shiva model, the HAPO Up consists of a lumbar belt reinforced with composite blade arms, the structure of which is inspired by bee cells. This exoskeleton provides infallible support up to 180° horizontally and between 60 and 180° in height. The passive and adjustable system reduces shoulder strain by up to -40% for work that requires the arms to be held above the head. The reduction in stress reaches -28% for light load movements.
HAPO FRONT
For its part, the HAPO Front is based on a harness system, consisting of a lumbar belt and straps to be attached to the arms. These two elements are connected by two composite springs, both resistant and intuitive. The HAPO Front provides relief for elbows, shoulders and upper limbs when working in a "arms forward" posture repeatedly or for several minutes. This posture harness does not restrict the movement of the arms, which can move up to 135° in height and 180° horizontally.
The UP and FRONT modules of this exoskeleton are interchangeable. This means that you can order the HAPO UP or the HAPO FRONT individually and still have the option of adding the missing module to your exoskeleton later. Changing from FRONT to UP - or vice versa - is done in a few minutes, without the use of any tools.
