
Anduze, October 17, 2023 - European leader in the design and manufacture of passive exoskeletons under the "Hapo" brand, ErgoSanté announces the release of its first "Made in USA" production product from its manufacturing facility based in Wilmington, North Carolina. This is ErgoSanté's first international production and marks an important step in its development, following the success of its original site in France. The Cévennes-based company's pragmatic strategy is to produce as close as possible to end-users, both in Europe and worldwide. By 2028, the American market should account for 50% of sales.
In March 2023, ErgoSanté announced the manufacture of its first parts from its American production workshop, under the aegis of its subsidiary "HAPO USA Corporation". The arrival of the first exoskeleton in the HAPO "Made in USA" range marks the start of a promising series of products in the autumn of 2023. Indeed, the exoskeleton market is valued at 354.22 million USD in 2021 and is expected to reach 1620.04 million USD in 2027, registering a CAGR of 12.5% during the forecast period (2022-2027) according to Mordor Intelligence™. The HAPO range, which equips companies such as Louis Vuitton, Sanofi, Airbus, Mars incorporated and Ford, is making its mark on the fast-growing physical assistance device (PAD) market with its innovations. Its products aim to relieve upper limb and back strain, while helping to prevent the risk of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs).
Two innovations in 2023
Against this backdrop of rapid expansion, ErgoSanté continues to innovate. After the HAPO, HAPO SD and HAPO FRONT, ErgoSanté presents two major innovations for 2023.
HAPO SENSOR:1st data sensor for passive exoskeletons, designed to analyze effort in real time
The HAPO SENSOR is a smartphone-controlled sensor that enables live evaluation of the intensity and frequency of a passive exoskeleton user's bending movements. The measurements collected provide objective, real-time data. They help users understand the benefits offered by the physical assistance device by measuring the weight relieved during activity (weight and percentage). An analysis report is then sent free of charge.
HAPO UP: the exoskeleton for arm-in-air work
This physical assistance device takes the strain off the shoulders of workers involved in "arm-over-head" tasks. The user's arm is held in an interface placed at the end of an articulated arm, itself attached to the exoskeleton's belt. Physical assistance is provided by a composite spring blade integrated into the exoskeleton's arm joint. The effectiveness of HAPO UP has been proven in laboratory tests. Muscular load on the shoulder is reduced by 40% for static overhead arm-holding tasks, compared with the same situation without an exoskeleton. Interchangeable with HAPO UP&FRONT kit.
