ErgoSanté markets its first exo-skeleton to Airbus Helicopters

Anduze, 11 April 2019: ErgoSanté, a technological player in the social and solidarity economy dedicated to health and well-being at work, delivered this week to Airbus Helicopters the first exo-skeleton from its production subsidiary Ergosanté Technologie. After 3 years of research and development within the framework of an innovation partnership with the SNCF, Ergosanté is launching its first exoskeleton model, the SHIVA EXO, designed and manufactured 100% in France. This exo-skeleton is designed to protect the health of operators who work for long periods in awkward positions, with their arms in the air for example, or who carry heavy loads.
The SHIVA EXO belongs to the family of passive exo-skeletons: entirely mechanical, it works without batteries. It has been designed to prevent shoulder, back and elbow injuries: the weight and mechanical stresses supported by the exoskeleton no longer pass through the shoulders and back and are directly redirected to the hips. Lightweight and durable, the device can be disengaged on each arm and is worn by the operator to relieve all the musculoskeletal stresses experienced on a daily basis.
Having followed the development of the project from the outset, Airbus Helicopters is now acquiring a first example for a test phase, before a more extensive deployment.
Martial Petit, labour analyst at Airbus Helicopters, says: "The emerging exo-skeleton market has the potential to profoundly improve the productivity and working conditions of operators in our industries. A study of the offers currently available worldwide and a first series of tests led us to choose the Ergosanté solution, which fully meets our needs, particularly in terms of multi-functionality, adaptability and durability".
Samuel Corgne, CEO and founder of ErgoSanté, adds, "This first sale is the culmination of three years of development and testing by our Ergosanté Technologie teams to create one of the first French exo-skeletons. The SHIVA EXO, with its innovative design and the extent of its capabilities, allows us to open up a new line of products with great potential to pursue our mission: to always offer the best technical solution to health problems in companies.
