The French SME ErgoSanté, leader in passive exoskeletons in France, reinforces its range by launching the new HAPO

Anduze, September 26, 2022 - Two years after the launch of the first HAPO posture harness, and with the benefit of customer feedback based on 2000 products sold, the ErgoSanté teams have conceived and designed its new version.
This new passive physical assistance device, designed and manufactured in France in its Gard production workshop, replaces its predecessor which it surpasses by its reinforced comfort and improved user experience.
The HAPO exoskeleton embodies the best of French innovation for the back.

A company at the crossroads of technology and altruism

Created in the Gard region of France in 2016, ErgoSanté Technologie has established itself as the French leader in the design and manufacture of non-motorized exoskeletons. Today, it is one of the key players in the international market of passive physical assistance devices. The strength of this Cévennes-based family business is its in-house design office and laboratory, which give it a unique capacity to develop, test and optimize each of its projects with agility.
ErgoSanté has also chosen to make its "LEA" application for postural analysis based on artificial intelligence available to the public free of charge. This application allows the prevention of musculoskeletal disorders (www.lea.ergosante.fr). To date, the company has received more than 6,000 analyses that support its innovations and the pursuit of its R&D by meeting the needs of users in terms of ergonomics.

After a successful presentation at WeaRAcon1 - the world's leading exoskeleton trade show - ErgoSanté launched its production this summer in its new premises, which tripled its design and production area and enabled it to manufacture more than 300 products per month.

Low back pain, the "disease of the century" to accompany and prevent

87%. This is the number of people who declare having suffered this year from back pain located in the lower spine, scientifically called "low back pain". For 7% of these people, low back pain becomes chronic, leading to disabling pain that sometimes leads to the cessation of all activity2. This is a real public health issue, in which prevention, based on both the reduction of risk factors and appropriate support for people with low back pain, plays a key role. The objective is to improve working conditions and limit the risk of chronicity, which is recognized as a source of disability.

Mirroring the response to what is considered the "ailment of the century," the global exoskeleton market has been seeing double-digit growth since 2019. From its manufacturing workshop based in Anduze (Gard), which employs 80% of people with disabilities3, ErgoSanté equips many companies with passive exoskeletons, including SNCF, AIRBUS, LVMH, LOUIS VUITTON, SONOFI, EDF, MARS Incorporated, and FORD. It is also a partner for many workers in the construction industry, the craft industry, the medico-social sector or the agricultural world. ErgoSanté exoskeletons are used, for example, in milking parlors, in viticulture or even in oyster beds.

The new HAPO: Nothing changes, but everything changes!

More discreet, lighter and easier to handle than the old one, the new ErgoSanté exoskeleton is easy to use(40s to put it on, 15s to take it off), available in 3 or 4 sizes4 and corresponds to 98% of morphologies. If the principle in static standing or dynamic bending position remains the same, it offers an improved user experience.

Like its predecessor, the new HAPO is dedicated toassisting standing workers whose postural or articular constraints contribute to work fatigue. It relieves the back and helps maintain a good posture, whether in full flexion or standing. By partially redirecting the efforts of the upper trunk - pectoral support - towards the thighs with the help of the springs and by maintaining - without restraint - the lumbar vertebrae with the help of its belt, the HAPO participates significantly in the reduction of musculoskeletal disorders (MSD). This new product completes the HAPO product line created in 2020 and enriched by the HAPO MS (dedicated to upper limbs) and the HAPO SD (without unlocking) released in 2021.

From September 27 to 29, the new HAPO, as well as the entire range, will be presented in Lyon at the Préventica trade show, the leading event for health, safety and quality of life at work.
