Sit-stand work, an ergo-dynamic position that respects the body

You've probably seen these sit-stand desks on TikTok or in a magazine. Is this design just a fad or does it have real benefits? The truth is that sit-stand work offers more advantages than disadvantages, especially in terms of ergonomics and health.

A sit-stand station at home

Sitting for too long is bad for your health: it's a fact proven by science! Recent studies even show that pathologies linked to a sedentary lifestyle represent a major health problem for companies.

In a study conducted between 2016 and 2017, British researchers estimate that prolonged sitting cost the UK just over £823 million in healthcare expenses and lost time. Worse, this "bad habit" is believed to be indirectly responsible for the deaths of 50,000 people in the UK each year. How do you know?

The answer lies in the way the body reacts when you are inactive for long hours. When there is no movement, the blood flow is reduced. This automatically decreases the oxygenation of the body, especially the vital organs. In addition to blood flow, sedentary living also affects the strength of the bone. Without the compression generated by movement, the bone degrades and loses density.

The researchers also linked prolonged sitting to other conditions, including digestive disorders, cardiovascular disease, low back pain and sarcopenia, or loss of muscle mass. More worryingly, prolonged sitting increases the risk of premature death. This risk is 37% higher for women who sit for at least 6 hours a day, and 17% higher for men.

All these statistics show how important it is toalternate the work posture on a daily basis. To maintain a minimum of mobility and muscle tone, doctors and ergonomists recommend not spending more than 4 hours a day in a sitting position. Those who have a sedentary job should at least get up and do micro-exercises every 2 hours.

The ideal would be to invest in a sit-stand desk. This workstation flexible This flexible workstation makes it possible to quickly change from a sitting to a standing or sit-stand position. With a height-adjustable desk, the employee can adjust his or her posture at any time in case of fatigue or muscular discomfort.

A sit-stand station to increase productivity

Sitting/standing also improves productivity. The gain in efficiency ranges from 10 to 30 percent, according to research. This point is not even debatable. An employee who is comfortable at his or her desk, free of muscular pain, feels better in body and mind. This feeling of well-being gives him more motivation and pushes him to be more efficient, physically and mentally.

The particularity of sit-stand work lies in its customization. The most efficient layouts offer mechanisms that take into account all morphologies. These adjustment possibilities concern both the ergonomic seat and the desk.

A sit-stand chair has at least three height adjustments. The seat, backrest and armrests can also be tilted to match the user's desired posture. The tray also adjusts to the employee's working position. Need a more comfortable and flexible work surface? The angle can be adjusted to relieve strain on elbows, arms and shoulders.

For meetings, video conferences and calls, the tabletop can be lifted to the height of thescreen for a full standing position. This allows greater freedom of movement and enhances creativity. It helps to make decisions faster and smarter.

The essential facilities for a sit-stand job

Knowing the benefits of the sit-stand position at work, the question is no longer why adopt it, but rather "how" to integrate it into your organization. Of course, employee health and wellness requires a minimum investment. For sit-stand work, these costs are related to the design of an ergonomic, flexible office adapted to different user profiles. These expenses are largely compensated by the gain in productivity.

ErgoSanté offers several sit-stand desk solutions to companies wishing to improve the health and well-being of their employees. The L-E-Vate station, for example, is easily installed on an existing desk. This platform is simply placed on top of office furniture and can accommodate up to two monitors thanks to its wide and deep tray. The height of the platform can be adjusted manually, and can reach up to 50 cm. The removable keyboard and mouse support also follows the platform's movement.

ErgoSanté's sit-stand range includes several models designed to fit into any work configuration. These semi-sitting stools are available with or without a backrest, but always with an adjustable height base. Since customization is the key to optimal sit-stand work, it is crucial to design the layout of a sit-stand desk according to your company's needs.

A basic sit-stand layout

Immobility and prolonged sitting make us vulnerable to many health problems: musculoskeletal disorders (MSD), severe back pain, tension, lack of tone... Many of these problems are the result of the integration of bad postures due to a lack of ergonomics in the office. It is therefore essential to set up a real ergonomic workstation to prevent risks and reduce discomfort. The purchase of a work chair will be one of the keys to the success of this approach. It will contribute to reduce the harm caused by the static position and will significantly increase the comfort of users.

From the simple traditional chair to the custom made chair, a multitude of choices are available to you. Before making a selection, you need to ask yourself the right questions: What are the qualities of a good ergonomic chair?

An office chair with a mechanism adapted to your use

In business or at home, no matter what the activity, it is important not to neglect your equipment. It must be adapted to your use and allow an ideal installation that will reduce the harmful effects on the body. For this purpose, office chairs offer a variety of appropriate mechanisms depending on the frequency of use. The more time you spend sitting, the better the mechanism of the chair must be in terms of support and support.

For any job of more than 4 hours, it is recommended to be equipped with an ergonomic tilt mechanism. These seats are very suitable, with permanent contact to ensure that the back is constantly supported against the backrest in order to follow the body's movements as closely as possible. Need individualized seat and backrest adjustment? Turn to asynchronous tilt chairs. Ideal for jobs that require a specific tilt, it allows you to adapt your seat to your current needs. For intensive use beyond 6 hours, you should opt for the synchronous mechanism . This mechanism is known to offer more comfort thanks to the simultaneous adjustment of all the components of the seat. The body remains in total support which facilitates the adoption of good postures.

In all cases, an off-center tilt structure is preferred for optimal dynamic support. It is also advisable to choose a model with an anti-return system for greater smoothness when returning to an upright position.

These functional technologies will allow you to adopt the best possible working positions. Chosen according to your needs, they will considerably reduce the appearance of chronic pathologies.

An ergonomic, adjustable and dynamic work chair

An ergonomic chair is a comfortable and design chair. But it is above all a chair that adapts to you and your way of working. Unlike a traditional chair, it conforms to different morphologies and thus prevents discomfort related to bad posture.

In order to achieve an ideal working posture, a good office chair must support the positioning of your entire body. The back, hips, legs, arms and even the head must be supported. If it is not custom-made, a "good chair" is 100% adjustable.

An efficient office chair has a backrest with integrated lumbar support, which is essential to compensate for the arching of the kidneys and avoid chronic back problems. The height and tension of the backrest should be adjustable to suit the user's height and weight for greater dynamism. In order to provide sufficient support to the thighs and pelvis, the seat should offer a seat translation to adjust depth and support surface. For more comfort, a functional chair can be completed with a headrest and multidimensional armrests. Adjustable, these ergonomic accessories effectively fight against tension and muscle fatigue in the neck, shoulder and arm areas. They allow to finalize a "right" position, to recover more quickly and to ensure the maintenance of parts of the body too often neglected.

Depending on your activities, the perfect chair may require a base with casters. They make short trips to work easy and provide effortless access to important office accessories and files.

An innovative office chair offering new ways of working

As we have seen, sitting for long periods of time is not suitable for humans and can lead to many ailments. Employees working all day in front of a screen are thus very exposed to all kinds of health problems. In order to protect them, other types of ingenious seats are available.

The sit-stand or sit-kneel positions allow a great freedom of movement by varying the different types of stations. Innovative, they bring together many health benefits: Reduced pressure on the lower limbs, maintenance of a neutral position of the spine, better oxygen supply, improved blood circulation ... These active seats are now recommended by ergonomists to reduce the risks associated with sedentary lifestyle and improve productivity among employees. Sitting dynamically, they will give you the impression of being more toned and will thus promote a real feeling of well-being in the office.

Other solutions such as ergonomic stools or ball seats are original alternatives to classic chairs. Playing on balance, they will train, strengthen and muscle different parts of the body in order to adopt a better natural posture.

A recent innovation in the field of work ergonomics, the exoskeletons are attracting more and more companies. Once the vector of futuristic images of augmented humanity, its use is now developing in the professional space. Many companies are equipping their employees with the aim of improving their working conditions.

What is an exoskeleton?

Exoskeletons are no longer just a sensational representation of science fiction! Today, they are used in many sectors in order to accompany man in his daily life. In the professional field, they are similar to a kind of armature or external harness designed to assist the user in certain arduous tasks. It is portable equipment that has been designed to relieve the user by reinforcing his physical capacities or by accompanying constraining postures. They allow to support the human body by developing its strength or its resistance.

There are many types of exoskeletons, all of which meet a specific demand. Their purpose is to reduce muscular stress in the areas of the body most frequently subject to pain (lumbar region, shoulders, arms, legs, etc.). Passive exoskeletons are the most common in the workplace. Unlike their "active" cousin, they are entirely biomechanical and non-motorized. They therefore use ingenious lever, spring or counterweight mechanisms to relieve the user's discomfort and fatigue. Affordable, lighter and versatile, they are very flexible.

What are the sectors where exoskeletons can be considered?

The market for exoskeletons is enjoying strong growth in many areas of activity. Depending on the type chosen, they have the advantage of being used in all sectors that require physical constraints. They can also be considered for the professional inclusion of disabled employees.

Exoskeletons are used, for example, in the industrial and logistics sectors. As they have to perform many repetitive tasks, operators in these sectors are often subject to back problems and chronic fatigue. Passive assistance can therefore reduce their efforts and protect their health. Exoskeletons are also used in the construction and transport sectors, where there is no shortage of work accidents and MSD risks. They can be found in agricultural trades or in garages to assist producers and mechanics.

Exoskeletons also have uses that are less well known to the general public. For example, they can be used in hospitals where they accompany caregivers and medical staff. Some light models are also used in craft or cutting and sewing workshops. They can even be adopted in fields requiring a prolonged standing posture such as the hotel industry or aesthetics.

What are the benefits for the health and well-being of employees?

The main objective of exoskeletons is to relieve operators in sectors known for their arduousness. To do this, they offer effective physical assistance in functions requiring high muscle activity.

This concrete help prevents the appearance of occupational diseases and MSD. The exoskeletons offer a reduction of muscular or articular pains on the part of the body concerned. By making arduous tasks safer and more efficient, they avoid the risk of work-related accidents. Companies are therefore well advised to use them! By offering a healthy and sustainable job to their employees, they considerably increase their economic and social performance!

In addition to their numerous health benefits, exoskeletons ensure ease of use and great versatility. Lightweight and intuitive, they guarantee the user great freedom of movement. In addition, they offer a variety of adjustment features that allow them to be perfectly adapted to each individual's morphology and needs. Passive exoskeletons will thus adapt to the individual who uses it to offer him/her an easier and safer work!

What if you were to put your company in the green? Synonymous with environmental performance and brand image improvement, refurbished furniture is making a noticeable appearance in the professional space. This trend ofeco-responsible furnishing is part of the CSR actions implemented by companies or communities to contribute to sustainable development issues. Recovered, reused or upcycled, eco-responsible approaches to reuse professional furniture are becoming increasingly attractive! But what are the real advantages?

A concept that reconciles economic and environmental issues

Encouraged by carbon neutrality goals or even the anti-waste law for a circular economy (AGEC), firms in every sector are aligning themselves with the repackaging trend. Purchasing refurbished desks or reconditioned chairs or desks is therefore an appropriate part of their CSR strategies or responsible purchasing policies.

Second-hand seats are more environmentally friendly than new models. Fully committed to reuse, they reduce waste and carbon emissions related to production. Investing in second-hand furniture therefore ensures an effective limitation of its carbon footprint.

This upgraded furniture is also economically very advantageous. Sold well below new prices, it is conducive to substantial savings for the company. Seats, desks and accessories are being given a new lease on life through initiatives that promote efficient reconditioning processes. The development of professional premises and specialized craftsmen allows us to optimize the life expectancy of furniture while offering real performance guarantees. Reconditioned furniture is fully cleaned and overhauled. Some parts can sometimes be replaced to improve efficiency and safety. The recycled versions are then just as functional as the new ones and perfectly preserve their benefits for the users.

Companies have no worries about quality. When refurbished by competent professionals, refurbished furniture is as good as new! Whatever the needs of companies in terms of furnishing, they can find their happiness in the second hand. Open space, reception room and even telecommuting, they are all gradually turning to this efficient and sustainable consumption mode!

Second-hand furniture, an initiative to boost its attractiveness

CSR and ecological initiatives are now a real challenge for a company's brand image. For example, they have the possibility to meet environmental criteria that can allow them to establish a "greener" marketing image. This environmental promise can also weigh in the balance when choosing between a company or its competitor. More and more large firms are choosing to use furniture made from recycled materials and the circular economy. They show their commitment in the fight against global warming through a concrete responsible action.

With the widespread development of open spaces, millions of employees now live together in shared work spaces. Offices are joined, partitions are removed and separations are removed to encourage professional collaboration. But in this environment of close proximity to employees, well-being and performance are not always guaranteed. Maintaining a certain amount of privacy can be tricky and cause a number of inconveniences. This problem, a source of de-concentration, must be taken into account during the process of designing an open space so that it proves to be harmonious and efficient.

In this article, you will find some tips on how to create a pleasant workstation, in accordance with your personal space needs.

Finding the balance between privacy and collaboration in open space

Since the 70's, shared work environments have been rapidly democratized thanks to their numerous advantages. Modern and friendly, the open space has broken the codes of traditional offices to bring a new breath of fresh air in companies. It favors communication and exchanges between all employees thanks to its great functionality. But does this professional layout model really guarantee an optimization of the quality of life at work?

On the other hand, some negative aspects can develop. For example, the close proximity of workstations is disconcerting for some employees. Noise pollution, the number of people coming and going and the overexposure to visual stimuli can become factors of discomfort in the office. These multiple sources of distractions negatively affect the involvement of workers by strongly impacting their physical and moral health. This blatant lack of privacy can lead to general exhaustion and a loss of concentration leading to a drop in productivity.

In order to welcome professionals in a healthy environment and to contribute to their happiness and success, the open space must be intelligently designed. The challenge is to preserve group synergy and conviviality while reinstating a private space. In this perspective, the company aims to establish a certain visual, spatial, informational and acoustic intimacy. The employee must be able to claim a space and control it. They must have some protection against external aggressions, be able to hold a confidential conversation and carry out their activities without disturbing others. For this, it is necessary to invest in ergonomic furniture that can be adapted to the needs of each individual.

They are also perfect as a display surface to personalize the work space. Fun, they allow you to create a real little cocoon to boost well-being and productivity.

The separation panels improve the working conditions of the employees. They allow a return of intimacy in open environments for a better concentration. Very effective, they reduce noise and visual nuisance by creating an intimate bubble that encourages the development of creativity and reflection. For even more peace and quiet, these screens can be completed with soundproofing. Soundproofing panels and acoustic panels will complete the auditory well-being of the workers.

These ergonomic accessories allow employees to be alone without giving up the conviviality of the open space. Flexible furniture, they can be modulated according to the needs for more sharing or isolation. Employees can enjoy the group while keeping a personal space that they can arrange and decorate according to their tastes. These screens offer a healthy work environment with different degrees of privacy

Redefine the different work spaces with modular partitions

Installing dividers is a simple way toarrange coworking offices for more privacy. They allow to delimit and visually optimize the space according to the needs of the professionals. It intelligently organizes the open space in order to delimit the different zones. Versatile, they can be easily integrated into any interior.

They are installed to define distinct spaces reserved for specific uses. These modular partitions can be used to mark out sharing rooms, relaxation areas or offices dedicated to a specific trade. They create a functional work environment that separates certain activities without breaking the warmth of the space.

For privacy, acoustic booths can be installed in addition. This innovative concept provides fully equipped booths allowing you to work without being exposed to external distractions. You have invested in a chair or a ergonomic chair in order to improve the comfort of your workstation? In order to maximize its effects on your health and well-being, you must now take the time to adjust and adapt it to your use and your morphology. Indeed, even the best equipment, badly used, can generate the installation and the reproduction of bad postures.

Remember to sit upright in your seat with your feet on the floor before adjusting. This will help you perfect your working position for maximum support, ease and efficiency.

Start by adjusting the height of your ergonomic seat

The first step is to adjust the height of your office chair. Adapt it to your work surface, trying to form a sort of right angle between your arms and your desk. This will relax your shoulders and avoid over-mobilization which could lead to upper limb pain.

If your feet no longer touch the ground, you can turn to footrest which will ensure an optimal installation. These will help you achieve a comfortable posture, with benefits for your entire body.

Then adapt the backrest and seat to your morphology and your needs

The adjustment of the backrest and seat will be the key to a good posture. They are the ones that will give you support, mobility and comfort and should not be neglected. Take advantage of the different adjustments offered by ergonomic chairs for a total adaptation to your shape, your feelings and your expectations.

Adjust the file

The first step is to adjust the height of the backrest so that it fits your height and respects the curvature of your back. If the seat is equipped with lumbar supports, they must be on the right contact points for immediate relief.

You will also need to adjust the tension and inclination of your backrest. This means adjusting the resistance of the backrest according to the user's weight. The goal is not to find yourself slumped in your seat or pushed forward. The optimal opening angle of your seat should be between 100 and 110°. According to your feelings and your use, prefer a model allowing you to "block" the backrest. A chair with a tilting mechanism will allow a dynamic and adapted support of your silhouette.

Adjusting the seat

The seat must adapt to the body in height and depth in order to provide sufficient support for the thighs and pelvis. In order to avoid having your calves on the seat or your thighs protruding from the seat, you must adapt it to your morphology. A seat equipped with a seat translation will allow you to adjust the depth for an optimal installation. Modulate it so that you can slide a width of 3 fingers between the front of the seat and the hollow of your knees.

Generally speaking, it is preferable from an ergonomic point of view to use as much of the seat surface as possible. This ensures that your posture and comfort are improved.

Choose between Synchronous and Asynchronous Mechanism

The adjustment of your seat will be different depending on the mechanism you choose. An asynchronous mechanism allows an independent adjustment of the seat and backrest while a synchronous mechanism allows a synchronized movement between the two. The latter is designed to avoid a too static position that could lead to a compression of the spine. It is particularly suitable for prolonged sitting work, as the seat and backrest tilt together in a coordinated manner. It allows the body to remain in total support against the seat and to maintain a straight posture.

Take advantage of your ergonomic seat's options

The armrests

You must imagine your armrests as an extension of your workstation so that your arms are in an optimal position. Thanks to 3D or 4D armrests, you will be able to modulate them in height, width and depth for an immediate feeling of relaxation. Well adjusted, they will be a good support for your forearms which will limit the pain in the upper limbs.

The headrest

If your ergonomic chair has a headrest, you will also need to adjust its height and angle. It should be at the height of your neck, in the cervical cavity, without exerting pressure. It will bring you more comfort and will relieve your cervical muscles.

Ergonomic accessories

To perfect your well-being, you can also complete your ergonomic seat with additional accessories. Flexible, they will bring you comfort and correction. For example, adaptable cushions and lumbar supports will compensate for the hollows in your back. They will be perfect as a complement of seat to limit the pains and to increase your ease.

Due to a lack of adequate equipment and the irresistible call of the couch, many teleworkers adopt postures that can be detrimental to their health. Bending over the computer or sitting on the bed, many report a gradual onset of muscle pain. In addition, mental illnesses such as chronic stress and insomnia can have a negative impact on the well-being of employees.

Setting up a real ergonomic home office is essential if you are to enjoy the benefits of telecommuting without leaving yourself vulnerable to musculoskeletal disorders. Here are a few tips for setting up a functional ergonomic workstation in the comfort of your own home. This will guarantee concentration and productivity for all your home-based activities.

Invest in ergonomic furniture to improve your posture when teleworking

Although they may seem idyllic, it is important to avoid improvised installations such as a corner table, a sofa or a bed to work. For your comfort, it is necessary to equip yourself with quality office furniture. These tools will be the key to a good working posture at home. Essential, they bring together all the functionalities necessary for the health and efficiency of teleworkers.

In order to adopt a healthy and pleasant work posture, you can invest in a work desk as well as in a good ergonomic chair. Positioning your computer screen correctly

The computer is the central tool of the home worker. It is therefore necessary to find solutions in order to limit as much as possible the inconveniences linked to its use.

First of all, the screen must be positioned at eye level, well in front of you in order to avoid any twisting of the neck or back. To avoid visual fatigue, it should be placed at a distance equivalent to the length of the arm (50-70cm). With a laptop, these tips can be difficult to implement. Fortunately, ergonomic solutions have been developed to overcome this difficulty. Articulated laptop stands and arms are designed to facilitate the installation and thus naturally correct the user's position. No need to tilt the head, look down, stretch the neck or over-engage. Effortlessly adjustable, these accessories allow you to quickly adapt your workstation to your needs. They are lightweight and easily stored in your computer bag to take you anywhere you want to go. To allow you to work comfortably in line with the keyboard and the screen, document holders can be integrated in addition.

Equip yourself with accessories that will increase your comfort while telecommuting

A multitude of other smart accessories are available to optimize the comfort of your workstation at home.

For example, using a computer stand means using a separate keyboard and mouse. Good news, because these accessories are essential for comfort! By opting for ergonomic keyboards and mice, you can prevent muscoskeletal disorders in the arm, wrist and shoulder areas. Some mice, such as vertical mice, will allow you to find the most comfortable position while avoiding carpal tunnel syndrome. Combined with a non-slip pad, the wrist will remain in line with the arm, which will effectively prevent strain and twisting.

To complete your home installation, you can equip your laptop withmultimedia accessories. Depending on your needs, a wireless headset can facilitate your activities and exchanges.

Comfort and convenience are essential to optimise typing conditions and to correct awkward postures that are usually perceived as being without risk to health. Using a keyboard that facilitates good posture It is therefore fundamental to alleviate discomfort and maintain well-being at work. The hands, wrists, shoulders and neck are particularly vulnerable to MSDs. This common situation highlights the importance ofergonomics of keyboarding.

Choosing your keyboard - selection criteria

Beyond a matter of taste and preference, choosing the right keyboard for your job is crucial to working in satisfactory conditions. Classified according to design, mobility or connectivity, this basic peripheral is essential in almost all computer tasks. Some models offer several options and depend on more advanced technology, others have additional keys that other more basic versions do not have.

A traditional wired keyboard has a cable that only needs to be plugged in for the equipment to be operational. The cable must be long enough to allow for optimal use. A wireless keyboard is often compact, lightweight and thinner, and is very practical. It offers greater convenience by allowing the operator to change from their usual working positions. Not being limited by the length of a cable, this connected model is pleasant to use and easy to move. By extension, it will also be a split keyboard, gamer, multimedia, with or without numeric keypad, standard or backlit.

Built around innovative, cutting-edge technology, mechanical keyboards are dedicated to gamers and typists alike. Solid, responsive but slightly more resistant to touch, they are designed in a concept that is ideal for prolonged work or game sessions.

In the digital age, traditional keyboards are gradually giving way to new ergonomic keyboards. These models contribute to a natural and relaxed typing position with their slightly curved keys. They are developed to reduce the strain on the upper limbs and neck by systematically improving the posture of the hand. Wrist flexion is greatly reduced along with the uncomfortable sensations associated with intensive keyboard use.

The ergonomic keyboard and the innovations it will bring

Handling the mouse all day long and typing repeatedly fatigues the upper limbs. The person may experience unpleasant sensations of numbness, fatigue or pain in the fingers and wrists. It is a fact that since the beginning of computerisation of tasks, the realities keep changing with the needs. In response to this ongoing evolution, a new range of more comfortable and easy-to-use keyboards is improving the on-screen experience for operators.

Ergonomic keyboards are optimised versions of standard models. They offer greater comfort of use and promote the well-being of the user, who can continue to work serenely. Designed to make typing easier, these devices have a special design that is tailored to the shape of the hand. As clever as they are practical, they adapt naturally to the position of the wrist to alleviate those pains that can spread to the back region.

Ergonomically designed keyboards prevent the wrist from twisting and keep it in line with the forearms. Properly designed to alleviate disabling upper limb pain, it prevents finger stiffness and the risk of tendon inflammation. The ergonomics of this product are well suited to office workers who spend long hours in front of a computer.

In addition to its basic functionality, the ergonomic keyboard relieves carpal tunnel syndrome, which affects as many as 600,000 people every year in France. People who usually type on their PCs are the most exposed to this nerve problem. Repetitive manual work associated with intensive keyboard use can cause tingling, pins and needles or a progressive numbness in the tips of the first four fingers of the hand and even in the forearms.

Especially recommended for people with hand, arm or neck pain, the ergonomic keyboard promotes a neutral and comfortable typing position. Its specific design will relieve the excessive pressure attributed to the continuous manipulation of the keyboard.

A good complement to ergonomic desks, the monitor arm offers the ideal comfort experience between posture and vision. Flexible and easily adjustable, it allows you to position the screen easily and to save space. This ergonomic device is designed to raise the field of vision and ensure great reading comfort. It allows you to define the right viewing distance from the screen without constraint in order to avoid neck pain, muscular tension and visual fatigue.

Desktop monitors: good practice made easy

How to sit in front of a computer? How do you protect your eyes from the screens? Here is what the experts prescribe: maintain an upright position with your back resting against the backrest, keep your feet flat on the floor and your arms outstretched towards the keyboard, adapt the height of the workstation and adjust the seat to suit your body type, blink your eyes from time to time, take short breaks every hour, and regularly vary your posture and viewing distance. The ideal distance between the eyes and the screen is an arm's length from the sitting position, i.e. about 50-70 cm. The eye should be at a comfortable viewing distance between horizontal and slightly downwards.

Designed for individual use, a height and viewing distance can be adjusted to suit the user's needs. can be adapted to the user's needs. It allows the user to continuously vary their screen posture and adapt their workstation to maintain an optimal experience. Combined with a sit-stand desk, the monitor arm helps to alternate body positions without compromising visual comfort. This allows the user to adapt the monitor to the way they work, whether they are standing or sitting.

A screen always at the right height

Practical and functional, the screen arm is beneficial to health. It is a simple solution for adjusting the workstation to respect the body and vision. It allows the field of vision to be precisely adjusted by placing the monitor at eye level so that the head remains in a natural position facing the screen. If you are working with multiple screens, your monitor arm ergonomically positions them in open book mode - with a main screen in the centre. You can then keep them side by side or move them individually.

Using a monitor arm support improves posture and allows you to work comfortably. It relieves eyesight and temporary headaches by reducing eye strain. Dedicated to workers exposed to the sustained use of a display screen, this equipment makes it possible to maintain reading comfort by orienting it at the right angle. This arrangement favours visual correction and anticipates physical constraints such as neck strain or joint pain due to an ill-fitting screen (too high, too low, too sideways).

A better way of working

PC support arms are designed to improve working conditions by positioning computer monitors correctly. They are robust, easy to set up and comfortable to use. Installing a monitor arm is recommended to avoid stress and reduced visual performance, but also to prevent musculoskeletal disorders in the neck, shoulder and lumbar region. The monitor is simply placed at eye level so that the body can achieve a neutral posture. It invites the user to sit up straight for greater comfort. No need to bend or stoop unnecessarily! By removing the monitor from the desk, it creates extra space on the work surface.

A monitor arm is the most ergonomic way to ensure that the monitor is always placed at the right height and angle. This device encourages the operator to adopt a proper posture in front of a computer by allowing full control over the display. It can be rotated 360° and offers great flexibility to facilitate discussion and sharing with colleagues. Some models are even designed to place the screen vertically. Ergonomic computer monitor stands allow for controlled mounting and installation of monitors. The operator is able to gradually adjust the height, depth and tilt angle of the monitor to provide natural comfort in any position.

Using a desk is a smart, simple and effective way to optimise the layout of any workstation. This easily configurable ergonomic device allows paper documents to be placed in front of the user. This reduces eye strain, neck and back pain. Simply place it between the screen and the keyboard to adopt a neutral posture and enjoy a pleasant reading experience.

Its slightly sloping design is ideal for raising the field of vision so that the operator can stand up naturally and gain comfort.

Prevention of musculoskeletal disorders with a desk

A poorly designed office forces the operator to work in a series of inappropriate postures. In a very short time, these bad working habits result in the progressive appearance of numerous musculoskeletal disorders and back pain.

We unconsciously adopt different positions when consulting documents or small notes usually placed on the side of the computer. This results in a significant rotation of the head, a painful and uncomfortable tilt of the neck, excessive strain on the neck, a sloping neck, drooping shoulders, a tilted head...

A ergonomic desk encourages working in alignment. It refocuses all documents in the line of sight to avoid sudden twisting of the neck due to unnecessary repetitive movements. You can continue to work calmly on your computer and avoid having your back bend all the time while looking at information on paper.

The use of a document support is therefore an effective way of preventing MSDs. This product is innovative and user-friendly. It aligns paper documents with the display screen at the right height and distance to relieve neck pain. The spine retains its natural curvature and your working position will be much more comfortable and ergonomic.

What is the purpose of a desk

A good compromise between posture and vision with a desk

An ergonomic desk is an accessory that has been carefully designed to optimise the reading of paper documentation and to allow manual input and PC work to be alternated without constraint. It is a very practical alternative for reducing discomfort and strain on the eyes.

Working with an aligned document holder provides a better viewing distance and at the same time naturally corrects the user's posture. This support will help to prevent eye strain, which often results in stinging, dry or wet eyes, blurred vision or headaches.

With this innovative and fully functional solution, you will enjoy comfortable reading combined with pleasant typing conditions.

With an ergonomic desk, the documentation is correctly positioned in front of the user, in line with the keyboard and screen. It's an adjustable stand that offers customised use. With a simple, effortless adjustment, you can adapt your workstation and even provide a writing surface for taking notes. You can optimise your workspace in no time at all, while dramatically reducing the amount of time your head spends going back and forth between the screen and paper documents.

An ergonomic mouse belongs to the range of office computer equipment designed to improve comfort and well-being at work. A good alternative to the standard version, it prevents and reduces joint pain in the wrist and discomfort caused by bending the bones of the forearm. Using an ergonomic vertical mouse allows the hand to be kept in line with the arm in a natural way and avoids many awkward positions. Functional and easy to handle, it allows a fluid and relaxed navigation.

A mouse that naturally fits the shape of the hand

Modern and innovative, the ergonomic mouse returns the wrist to its natural position thanks to its shape adapted to the anatomy of the upper limbs. The alignment of the wrist with the arm is recommended to avoid joint pain and musculoskeletal disorders that can quickly spread to the shoulders and neck. This pointing device relieves the muscles of the hand, elbow and forearm. Its simple but clever design has been effectively thought out to allow a much more natural grip.

Designed to increase individual comfort, this state-of-the-art ergonomic device reduces pressure on the hand and arm by providing better support. Regular use of an ergonomic mouse relieves wrist strain and pre-existing pain caused by the repetitive motions and efforts of clicking the mouse. Those seemingly innocuous endless clicks can actually cause musculoskeletal disorders in the wrist and forearm.

User comfort and practicality

Working with an ordinary mouse forces the user to twist the forearm; unlike the ergonomic version which fully respects the shape of the hand. While using an ergonomic mouse takes some time for the operator to adapt, it suggests comfort right down to the fingertips. Once accustomed, the person will feel more relaxed.

Anergonomic mouse provides good support for the wrist and forearm. It is designed to provide a neutral and relaxed position to reduce carpal tunnel discomfort. It is a finely tuned accessory to make prolonged use of the mouse less tedious and more comfortable. This prevents the user from overstretching and twisting, which can lead to pinching and tingling sensations in the fingers, pain in the palm and tendonitis in the wrist area.

The ergonomic mouse improves the clicking experience. Its well-designed structure positions the arm in a natural upright posture that frees the user from exhausting and silently painful movements. This is a reminder of how important it is to choose the right ergonomic device to prevent the onset of chronic musculoskeletal disorders and the risk of manual disability in the long term.

An ergonomic and lightweight mouse

The concept of this computer equipment is based on ergonomics. It protects the wrist, arm and forearm from pain caused by inappropriate and uncomfortable gripping. The ergonomic mouse places the upper limb in a precise angle of inclination that does not compress the median nerve.

It is advisable to choose a model that is both ergonomic and light. Handling a relatively light mouse avoids affliction of the wrist tissue. The advantage of this working tool is that it is easy and pleasant to use. With an ergonomic mouse, the fingers remain flexible and the user feels much less joint pressure.

Semi-vertical, vertical and central mouse

Ergonomic mice come in a number of different formats. In the computer trade, there are generally three (3) main ranges of ergonomic mice, namely, the semi-vertical, vertical and central mouse.

The semi-vertical mouse is hinged at a precise 25° tilt angle to direct the palm towards the inside of the device. It does not put excessive strain on the operator's forearm, thus limiting the strain of handling the mouse. As for the vertical model, the grip angle is defined at 90° to allow a neutral posture of the hand. Its ergonomic qualities are confirmed by its design, which allows good alignment of the forearm, elbow, arm and hand tendons. This innovative hardware is ideal for people with musculoskeletal pain and who are vulnerable to tendonitis. As for the central mouse, this model is essentially used with a keyboard. The configuration of this device offers a new way of working. The central pointer is easy to grip and positions the arms naturally flat on the support, while providing direct support. It refocuses the shoulders, prevents the hand from remaining in a static position while limiting unnecessary gestures and lateral movements that are often exhausting.
